28 Nov Thinking Reading at HGS
Students who enter secondary schools with poor literacy skills face huge challenges.
Highbury Grove School is committed to ensuring that no student leaves school unable to read well. The Support Department runs an intensive reading intervention programme called Thinking Reading. Students who are on the programme each receive a personalised half hour 1:1 reading session three times a week. The aim is for all students to achieve a reading age that matches or exceeds their chronological age. To find out more about this programme, contact Usha Singh and Raul Pineiro Rodriguez in the Learning Support Faculty.
