11 Mar Project Soapbox
On Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 March every student in Year 8 will be taking part in ‘Project Soapbox’. This exciting project will see every student in the year group have the chance to give a short speech on an issue which is close to their hearts.
Students are busy preparing and the range of topics is phenomenal: from the Syrian refugee crisis, to smoking, football and the possible consequences of Donald Trump becoming the next president of the United States! As part of HGS’ new rhetoric curriculum this will be a chance for the students to develop their public speaking skills as well as their confidence. We can’t wait to see what the students have to say when they get their chance to stand on their own ‘soapbox’!
