28 Oct Dyslexia Awareness Week
Dyslexia Awareness Week 2016 took place week beginning 3 October and the theme for this year is the ‘Identification of Dyslexia’.
Dyslexia is a learning difference, which affects the learning process in reading, spelling, writing and sometimes numeracy.
Where would we be without the likes of famous dyslexic people such as: Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, Steve Jobs, Steven Spielberg, Walt Disney, Winston Churchill to name but a few famous dyslexic individuals? Identification of dyslexia is the first step to unlock the talents of students. At HGS we offer students 1:1 sessions with a specialist dyslexia teacher where we use a range of multisensory resources to support our students with dyslexic traits. Consequently, they are all making strides in academic progress.
